In My Life 2009 Mixed Media Each element: 6" x 6" x 3/4"-4"
This piece reflects my ongoing interest in the simplicity of abstract forms, combined with an attention to process: tying, joining, binding, grouping, stacking, bundling, folding, bending, twisting, wrapping, laminating and an engagement with materials: wax, wire, plaster, steel, cardboard, felt, glass, wood, rubber.
I use found objects often. Found objects facilitate for me an experience James Joyce called an "epiphany". An epiphany was the sudden "revelation of the whatness of a thing," the moment in which "the soul of the commonest object…seems to us radiant."
